How these deadlines are calculated
Carrier holiday deadlines tell you the last day a parcel can be dropped off and still arrive before Christmas. They don't account for the time it takes to make something to order.
We start with Canada Post's published 2026 holiday sending deadlines: December 10 for Regular Parcel within Canada and December 11 for Tracked Packet to the USA. Then we work backwards, allowing 1 business day to engrave, illustrate or print your gift, plus one day of buffer. That gives you December 8 for Canada and December 9 for the US.
Ontario cities
Parcels to Toronto, Ottawa and Southwest Ontario usually arrive in 3 to 5 business days, so an order placed by Wednesday, December 16 ships Thursday, December 17 with estimated delivery by December 24.
Rural and remote addresses
Canada Post quotes its holiday dates between major urban centres. If you're shipping to a rural or remote address, including much of the North, add extra time and order earlier if you can.
Shipping to the United States
US orders ship free, but the US no longer exempts low-value parcels from import duties, so the carrier may charge duties or taxes on delivery. Those charges are set by US Customs and aren't included in our prices. See our shipping details for the full picture.
Why personalized gifts need more lead time
A mass-produced gift is sitting on a shelf. A personalized one starts when you order it. At Ink & Oak, every piece is made to order in Brampton, Ontario: we lay out your names and dates, illustrate from your photo, then engrave or print. Orders ship in 1 business day, and December is busy, so the cushion built into our dates matters.
A few things can add time on your end, too:
- Photo products without a photo. If you skip the upload, we email you within 1 business day and wait for your reply before we can start. Upload on the product page to avoid the wait.
- Spelling changes after ordering. Email us right away. If we haven't started, we'll update it; once production starts, changes aren't possible.
- Large or bulk orders. Bulk card packs ship 1 business day after you choose your design from the 5 we send you, so order them early. Larger team orders can take longer, and we'll tell you before we start if so.
